WORSHIP WITH US THIS SUNDAY!! – 10:30 am in-person, on our Worship page, or on YouTube. We hope to see you there!
Each year, on the fourth Sunday of August, we come together for our Community Picnic. We eat together, we play games, and we celebrate the new year of ministry ahead. And we invite our neighbors to join us.
This year, however, our community picnic carries added significance. In the month of August, The Grove Covenant Church will celebrate 155 years as a congregation! In the weeks ahead, we will celebrate our past and give thanks for God’s faithfulness for more than a century and half.
Even as we look backward and celebrate our distant past, we will celebrate the work God has been doing in and through us in recent years, as well: our journey through the Vitality Pathway. In March 2017, we began a pathway that helped to bring about our revitalization as a congregation and directly led to the decision to change our name to The Grove Covenant Church last fall.
Fun fact, including our most recent name-change, did you know that this congregation has had five names since 1870? Bonus points for anyone who can list them all! (Hint: the only word common to all five names is “Church”)
The official celebration of our 155 years as a congregation will take place on Sunday morning, August 24, and will be followed by a community picnic to which all are invited.
Tammy Swanson-Draheim, the president of our denomination, will bring the message that morning. It is our hope that you will join us to hear what God has to say through her as we celebrate God’s goodness in worship, and that you’ll stay for the picnic, afterwards.

Here’s to another 155 years!
