WORSHIP WITH US THIS SUNDAY!! – 10:30 am in-person, on our Worship page, or on YouTube. We hope to see you there!
For over a decade, our church has had the joy of connecting with children and families through a summer ministry at Miller Elementary. Since 2015, this program has been known as Summer XP—a week filled with laughter, learning, friendship, and faith.
We are deeply grateful for the many ways God has worked through Summer XP. We give thanks for the children who have participated, for the volunteers who have served so faithfully, and for the relationships that have been built with families from our church, the Miller neighborhood, and the wider community. So many meaningful connections have been formed, and we celebrate the impact this ministry has had over the years.
As many of you have noticed, this spring has looked a little different. By this time, we would typically be preparing for another summer—opening registration and inviting volunteers to serve. After several years of prayer, reflection, and discernment, our team has made the decision to bring this season of Summer XP to a close.
In recent years, participation has declined, and despite thoughtful efforts to adapt, it has become clear that this model of ministry is no longer serving families in the same way it once did—particularly in the years following COVID. At the same time, we have seen how the deepest impact of Summer XP has always come through relationships built over time.
While there is real sadness in this ending, we hold onto hope. We trust that God continues to be at work in our community and that the Holy Spirit is leading us into a new season of relational ministry with children and families at The Grove and at Miller Elementary. Our commitment to these relationships remains strong, and we are expectant about what lies ahead.
We invite you to join us on Sunday, June 7, as we celebrate all that God has done through Summer XP. This will be a time of gratitude, joy, and prayer as we remember the stories, the friendships, and the faith that have grown through this ministry—and as we look ahead together to what God will do next.
Thank you for the many ways you have supported, served, and participated in Summer XP over the years. It has truly mattered, and it will continue to shape the future of our ministry.
As we move forward, we ask for your prayers—that we would listen well, follow faithfully, and continue to build meaningful connections with the children and families God has placed in our community.
