Prayer and Planning for 2026

In addition to our monthly planning meetings and our weekly staff and pastors’ meetings, twice a year the pastors and directors take a couple of days for prayer and planning. In our fall retreat, we focus on upcoming events, spiritual formation, team building, and the question of strategic initiatives for the coming year.
As you receive this edition of our weekly update, we have just begun our two-days of prayer and planning together (Tuesday, September 30-Wednesday, October 1). We covet your prayers for us and our time together.
I have said many times over the past four years that I truly like who we are becoming as a congregation. Much of the good work we have accomplished and continue to steward over as a team and as a congregation was birthed out of these prayer and planning meetings.
Consider the following developments over the past four years, all of which have come from our time together in prayer, listening, and discussion:
- The launch of LifeGroups (from 158 participants in 2022 to 172, in 2025).
- The creation, development, and training of our Care Team.
- Installing Kristin Devine Mueller as our Pastor of Families and Children.
- Calling and installing Chuck Potts as our Pastor of Young Adults.
- Changing the name of our church to The Grove Covenant Church.
- Our 2025 strategic initiative of living into our new name in the areas of WELCOME, TRANSFORMATION, and REBRANDING.
- The development of a corporate Rule of Life.
As we come to the end of another year and look forward 2026, would you please pray, once again, for pastors, directors, and staff as we spend time away, today and tomorrow? We all greatly appreciate it!
