WORSHIP WITH US THIS SUNDAY!! – 10:30 am in-person, on our Worship page, or on YouTube. We hope to see you there!
So, after a year and a half of prayerful discernment and conversation, at our congregational meeting on Sunday, October 13, the members of ECC voted to change our name to The Grove Covenant Church.
We are making this change to better name and celebrate what God has been doing among us over the past few years, and to intentionally live into the identity that name suggests—rooted and established in love, as the Apostle Paul puts it in Ephesian 3.17.
The name, “The Grove”, suggests a grove of quaking aspen trees, whose roots not only connect them to resources in the soil, but to a network of roots through which water and nutrients are shared with parts of the grove damaged by fire, disease, or infestation. It is an image we hope to emulate as people in community with one another, practicing unity, sharing our resources with one another, and caring for one another—rooted and established in the love of God.
Right now, we are in a time of transition. We live in two worlds: the world of ECC and the world of The Grove Covenant Church. It will take a while for these changes to work through the system, to become second nature to us.
So, in the months to come, you’ll see changes on our website, changes in our communication strategies, and, eventually, changes in our logo, signage, and the like. In this time of transition, we ask for your patience, your prayer, and your partnership.
We are excited to move forward with this name change and to more fully embrace and live into the good things God has done and continues to do in and through us. Thanks for being a part of the process and a part of the community of The Grove Covenant Church.
